Blacks better wake up and support Obama

In a perfect world, Blacks in America would be celebrating the Great Jubilee with the election of the first Black president, Barack Obama. We would see fewer Blacks going to prison, more Blacks with good paying jobs and high school and college graduation rates soaring for Black boys and girls. But this is not a perfect world. Racism still haunts this nation.

What’s more, after the shock that whites experienced when Obama trounced John McCain, many went on record to say their sole mission was to make sure that Obama didn’t get a second term. Others worked behind the scenes but towards the same result. Meanwhile, the Republican Party made sure they got enough people in office to thwart every effort Obama made to improve the lives of everyday U.S. citizens, Blacks included.

Blacks just don’t see the whole picture. Or maybe we just don’t want to see it. Barack Obama may be our “homeboy” but he is not the president of Black America. He is the President of the United States. That being said, he must consider the needs and demands of the nation not just our race. His recent support of gay marriage, or at least civil unions, is one such example.

As a rule, Blacks tend to be conservative-minded so such chatter might tend to rub us the wrong way, if not outright offend us. But there are Black gays in this world – some may be in your own family. But should it be a deal breaker that leads us to support Mitt Romney or even worse, cause Blacks to stay home on Election Day? NO!

Instead of allowing Obama’s personal views to distract us, Blacks should be following the lead of the NAACP and making sure our people are ready to vote. We should be identifying candidates that care about our needs and supporting them in their bids for local seats. If we’re really considering throwing Obama under the bus, let’s make darned sure we know where his opponent stands.

Do your homework people. Then get to those polls and put Democrats back in local offices and Obama back in the White House. Romney is nothing more than a four-year ride through misery.

This Editorial coment is so sad. To tell us to support OBAMA WHEN he has DONE NOTHING FOR THE BLACK COMMUNITY BUT SMILE AND WAVE. Obama is a politician and thinks blacks are stupid. He must not know who we are. We want some of the American Pie like the gays, the illegals and all the rest. We no longer want a brother man that throw us some scraps while he hold out the other hand for our vote. We want and deserve Respect and we want jobs and things to better our community. WHAT HAS HE DONE FOR BLACKS LATELY. NOT A DARN THING. BE VERY CAREFUL BLACK PEOPLE WHEN OTHER BLACKS TELL YOU TO VOTE FOR THE ‘BROTHER’THAT DOES NOTHING FOR YOU. YOU MUST LOOK AT ALL OPTIONS ON THE TABLE BECAUSE THIS ELECTION IS ABOUT THE ECONOMY, JOBS AND A STRONG FAMILY. THE WAY I SEE IT OBAMA GETS A D- for all of these things. Dont let others make up your minds -think for yourself and do what is best for you and your family.

Linda, Linda, Linda I will Vote President Obama in November with no regrets. Tell me Dear what have you done for your community lately to help the President carry out Our Dream?
Have you called your local, county, state, and federal officials about our economic problems? Have you call and asked those same elected officials about Jobs and how many jobs they brough into our community? It is their job first. Politics is Local.

I am thinking you are young and not aware of our struggle. I am thinking you can’t thank a teacher because you won’t read or can’t read. I hate the thought of you not knowing our history. I hate the thought of you thinking money grows on trees or things have always been where you could have your say. You need to call the other side and tell them what you think we should have that the President isn’t doing. Tell them to help with jobs, health care and education.

My Dear you are the reason President can’t do what he needs to get done. Have you called his counterparts on Washington or Tallahassee lately, I do almost 3 times a week.

Linda here is my email aldcf@yahoo.com lets talk. History I got and can share with you. Life have not been a bowl of cherries ask your Grandma or your Grandaunt or anyone born before 1966. My brother-in-law remember lifting my niece and his niece up to a water fountain that had a sign colored only white only, there in Opa Locka on 27 Avenue and 140 Street the store was Margret-Ann.

So when you critizes the President look in the Mirror and ask, have I done all I could for my community? I know I haven’t. But working everyday to do my part for my county, your county, my state and my country.

I Obama did not want to be critized he should have not run for office, it comes with the territory. I am a realist, I gave Obama 4 years my vote , and my donations so I can critized the president if I want to. I am not drinking the Obama Koolaid just because he is Black. Obama not even mentioned black people(from his mouth) by mentions gays, and illegals hispanics. He is working specifically on their behalf but no such work for blacks. Because we (for the most part) just give away our vote and ask nothing in return. No other groups do that but us. It is time for a change from the democratic party that has not done much either. WHy should I waste my vote for someone that wont even mention blacks. Obama is a politican and will do anything to win but the funny thing about us is he knows we are too dumb to think for ourselves because we have been trained to listen to others(for the most part). A black president means NOTHING. DR. KING SAID DO NOT JUDGE PEOPLE BY THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN BUT BY THE CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER SO THAT GOES FOR OBAMA-WE SHOULD NOT THINK BECAUSE HE IS BLACK THAT HE CARES. I dont see any evidence that he does. That is why we dont get much we are mostly trained parrots-saying yesum.

TO: Paulette Sims Wimberly -If you like Obama vote for him. I hope he does something for you . But as for your attitude it is not good. You have your personal reasons to vote for Obama and I have my personal reasons not to vote for him. Too bad you have no class or manners and do not know how to repect other people’s opinions . That is a sign of immaturity which is sad at your age. I would not be interested in talking about anything with a disrespectful person like you. You want to be heard but you dont want to hear others. Maybe because deep down you know what I say is true and cannot handle it . I would not hold a conversation with you about dog poop. You have no manners and it is shameful since you are an older person. What can you tell or teach me–NOTHING.
