The first Girl Scouts of America troop was formed in Savannah, Ga. on May 12, 1912 but the first troop of Black Girl Scouts wasn’t admitted until 1917. Miami’s first Black Girl Scouts were organized at Booker T. Washington [BTW] Junior-Senior High School in 1942.
