Vice Chairwoman Audrey M. Edmonson took a point of personal privilege to introduce the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at the Board of County Commissioners meeting of May 15th at the Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW First Street, in Miami. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, of which she is a proud member, is a public service sorority with chapters throughout the U.S. and the world. It is a sorority of college-educated women with a sisterhood of more than 200,000, throughout 900 Chapters worldwide.
The sorority and its members are committed to improving the community by promoting economic development, educational development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, political awareness and involvement. The members of the Dade County Alumnae Chapter, the Miami Alumnae Chapter, Iota Pi Chapter and other local members of the sorority celebrated Delta Day at Miami-Dade County, promoting political awareness and involvement.
