About 300 low and moderate income individuals received a mega food distribution sponsored by Farm Share, a large-scale food bank and charitable packinghouse, on Mar. 11 when they partnered with Curley’s House Hope Relief Food Bank. A truck load of chicken, juice and canned goods was given at Curley’s House. Students from South Carolina, who are members of Midtown Fellowship Church, assisted at Curley’s House while visiting during Spring Break.
“There are many individuals who don’t know where their next meal is coming from”, according to Laverne Holliday, Asst. Director of Curley’s House Food Bank. “Hunger in our community is a huge problem and Curley’s House has tripled its clientele. We used to feed 500 people monthly and that need has grown to 2,000 people who walk through our doors on a monthly basis. We are so thankful to Farm Share for their support.”
