Brings message of hope to Miami
Gregory L. James is the author of the recently-released, “Naked: Is Your All on the Altar?” and a highly sought after speaker and revivalist. And he’s a born-again Christian and pastor of Life Church International in Tallahassee. But it is his testimony that sets him apart from the average person. James was once an inmate, sentenced to life plus 40 years. He was released from prison in 2008 after serving 13-1/2 years behind bars. Since then he has organized a community outreach campaign aimed at restoring ex-felons’ rights to vote that has helped hundreds regain their rights.
He also dedicates himself to working for the children of incarcerated parents with the goal of preventing and reducing intergenerational incarceration. He says his advocacy for the prison population is uncompromising adding that he believes “everyone from time to time needs another chance.”
James will be the speaker at Ebenezer United Methodist Church’s Friends, Relatives, Associates, Neighbors and Kids Day [FRANK Day] on Sunday Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. The church is located at 2001 NW 35th Street in Miami.
James will also be at New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. for their Tuesday night worship services. The church is located at 777 NW 85th Street in Miami.
