In honor of Women’s History Month and in conjunction with the 7th Annual Jazz in the Gardens music festival, the City of Miami Gardens will host the 2012 Women’s Impact Conference & Luncheon. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at Shula’s Hotel & Golf Club, 6842 Main Street, in Miami Lakes.
The Conference & Luncheon seeks to empower women to take essential time for self-discovery, while pursuing a joyful life full of endless possibilities. Attendees will be entertained and engaged as celebrities and experts deliver powerful tips and tools for becoming successful both personally and professionally. World-renowned panelists include: Jazz in the Gardens host and hip hop icon MC Lyte; celebrated actor Hill Harper of CSI: New York; former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz; Tracy Wilson-Mourning, founder of the Honey Shine Mentoring Program for girls; and CBS-4 News Anchor Jawan Strader. Breakout sessions will run the gambit and include: Woman Power — Giving Back; Uplifting the Female Spirit; Secrets of How to Achieve Wealth in America; Is This Really a Man’s World?; and Beautiful You — Relationships & Finances.
“We are excited to be hosting the Women’s Impact Luncheon for a second year, celebrating the many accomplishments of the women of our past, while empowering women of today,” said Mayor Shirley Gibson, City of Miami Gardens. “Our hope is to encourage women to live their best lives daily so they can continue to make a positive impact and difference in our communities and their personal lives, while maintaining a successful and balanced existence.”
