Overtowns GIB Primitive Baptist Church to celebrate its 100th anniversary

Greater Israel Bethel Primitive Baptist Church will mark its 100th year of service to the Overtown community and Miami-Dade County on Sunday, July 8th. The pastor, Elder Kenneth L. Washington, and other leaders of the church have invited guest choirs and speakers including Elder Kenneth Duke, pastor/teacher, New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church in Miami. Three services will be held at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Duke will be the preacher at the afternoon service. For information call 305-573-6331. Washington has been the pastor for the past 14 years. His favorite scripture is Romans 10: 9 If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
