The winners of this years poster contest were recognized at the Tuesday, May 15th County Commission meeting by Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, who chairs the Countys Community Image Advisory Board (CIAB). The CIAB organizes the contest every year, displaying the winning artwork around Miami-Dade. This year, the selected posters were displayed at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair & Exposition and the Miami-Dade County Public School Board building. Its important to instill a sense of community pride in these youngsters, who really show a love for keeping Miami-Dade clean in their artwork, Moss said. Im proud to lend my sponsorship every year and see the creativity in how our students choose to promote a healthy and green environment. The winning students all received a congratulatory certificate presented by Miami-Dade commissioners, as well as gift certificates. The students teachers were also rewarded with spa gift certificates provided by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Special recognition was given to Ms. Maria del Carmen Carrodeguas of Lamar Louise Curry Middle School, who always encourages her students to participate. This was the sixth year in a row one of her students won the contest. Pictured are: Commissioner Dennis C.
