Students recently filled Commissioner Jordan’s district office to take part in the commissioner’s 2013 book bag giveaway. Jordan distributed 700 backpacks to kids from various non-profit and local organizations in District 1 including: Teen Upward Bound, The Embrace Girls Foundation and Grandparents raising Grandkids. Each child received their own book bag. Landmark Aviation assisted in defraying the costs.

“The kids were so excited to receive a new book bag,” Jordan said. “It is always a great feeling to see kids enthusiastic about starting a new school year.”
