The City of Miamis 2013 Gun Buyback Operation has resulted in the removal of a significant number of dangerous weapons off of our streets. City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado, announced during a press conference held last Friday that nearly 400 weapons, including 127 rifles and 13 stolen arms, were recovered during the Gun Buyback Operation held at three local churches over the past month. Regalado says the collective efforts will have a significant impact on our safety and the quality of life in our neighborhoods and community as a whole. He thanked community partners and corporate sponsors that provided gift certificates for those who turned in guns and made the operation possible without the use of public funds.
