Miami native hired as postmaster

Valerie Stanley Myers became the first Black female postmaster of Dublin, Georgia. She was appointed to the position on March 9, 2013. Myers, a graduate of Miami Springs High School and Fort Valley State College, began her her career as a letter carrier in the streets of Miami in 1984. Hard work, dedication and parental support were the driving force behind her accomplishments. Myers a former member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Brownsville is the daughter of Benjamin and Clara Stanley, the sister of Carol Olajide and the mother of Kadeijah Myers.
