Celebrating moving to a higher level The children at Living Word Christian Center International are now able to learn more about God at childrens church, while the deacons, pastors and other church leaders now have a consistent location to go for meetings throughout the week. It may seem like common and insignificant activities to some, but the addition of these few activities are being celebrated at the Living Word Christian International Center. Rev. Willie Felton, senior pastor of the church for 10 years, and his congregation are grateful that their church has recently moved into a new facility. The newer location has allowed them to have more activities at the same location and assist them in fulfilling their mission in helping people improve their relationship with God and their fellow man. The church is located at 4855 NW 183rd Ave. Now that we have our own building, it makes things a lot easier, Felton said The church plans on incorporating more activities in the future, including a few exercise classes. One of their most recent events was their Family and Friends Day which occured last Saturday at Carol City Park. At the event, there was comedy, singing, music, bounce houses, face painting and card games. Felton described the church as a ministry that is centered around serving people. Some of the churchs goals are not only helping members strengthen their relationships with God, but also their marriages and other relationships. Once you have that spiritual side, you have to work on the natural side, Felton said. Felton said he is excited that the church is getting a chance to expand what they were called to do. Now the people have a place they can come; now the people have a place [where] they can grow; and a place they can call home, he said. By Malika A. Wrightmwright@miamitimesonline.com
