Recently, Miami Northwestern Senior High School [MNSH] was the recipient of a generous offer from the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organization [AFL-CIO].

The AFL-CIO held a special presentation in the school’s auditorium to present a $5,000 grant. Principal Wallace Aristide, Superintendent Alberto Carvalho and United Teachers of Dade President Fedrick Ingram were all in attendance at the grant presentation.

The “Adopt-a-School” program is designed to support teaching staff in their classrooms in order to help educate young students about workers’ rights and civil rights.
