The Reverend Tracey McCloud, pastor of Peace Missionary Baptist Church (l-r); Caronite St. Luc, Lemonfort St. Luc and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime were all smiles at the recent ribbon cutting for the St. Luc’s new home. It is their first time owning a home in South Florida. The new home, located at 810 NW 115th, was a longtime dream of the couple, they say. It was made possible due to the Miami-Dade Affordable Housing Foundation, Inc., a program that Monestime strongly supports. The three-bedroom, two-bath home stands on a once derelict abandoned lot that was donated to the Foundation by the County and was built by Ario Lundy of Palmetto Homes of Miami. In the last two years, through its partnership with Miami Community Builders and Palmetto Homes, Inc., the Foundation has completed 10 homes for low- to moderate-income buyers. Seven additional homes are currently under construction. For more information about the program, call 305-694-2779.
