Student recognized for his academic achievements

Mervin Cox, a junior at Miami Palmetto Senior High, has been chosen to be the 5000 Role Models’ student of the month. Cox, an honor roll student, has set his educational goals before him and believes that he can do anything in life once his mind is set to it. President of his school’s club. Cox said that he is highly grateful of the amazing experiences afforded to him as a member of the Role Models. Most recently, Cox along with 23 other students, was able to go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington D.C. During the trip, the students met congressional leaders, attended workshops, participated in a roundtable discussion with White House staff and toured the nation’s capital.

Cox is also a member of Diversified Education Career Academy [DECA] and Kendall United Methodist where he serves as the AV Technician. Cox plans to continue his high school education then go on to attend college and pursue a degree in Business Law.

“Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard,” said Cox referring to his philosophy in life.
