The Miami Foundation is accepting applications for its 2014 Community Grants Program, the Foundation’s signature grantmaking program awarding $1.2 million to nonprofits serving Greater Miami. Interested organizations must first submit a pre-proposal application by 4 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014. Finalists will be invited to complete a full proposal.

“Each year, The Miami Foundation invests in organizations that find innovative solutions to the challenges facing our community,” said Javier Alberto Soto, president and CEO of The Miami Foundation. “We are at a crucial moment in Miami’s history that requires game-changing approaches to solve long-standing problems. These are the solutions we hope to identify through the program.”

The Foundation’s Community Grants Program supports nonprofits providing education resources for children and youth, basic needs for homeless families, wider access to the arts, care for abused animals, and those addressing other pressing community issues. The program is made possible by the generous philanthropists who established private foundations and entrusted The Miami Foundation to tackle local areas of concern. Applicants may find submission guidelines and pre-proposal application forms on The Miami Foundation’s website:miamifoundation.org/grantprogramshttp://miamifoundation.org/grantprograms.

For additional information, applicants may also contact Marianne Maduro, senior programs officer, at 305-357-2087 or mmaduro@miamifoundation.org.
