Stafford (D-109) served as the keynote speaker at the Progressive Officers Club annual Black history luncheon.  Held on February 20th at North Shore Hospital, Stafford spoke about the legislative achievements of Black leaders during the Civil Rights era such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
