Two killed, one injured in shooting in Liberty City

The long Fourth of July weekend ended Sunday night with two people dead and two injured during a shooting in Liberty City.

Miami-Dade police said they arrived at the scene at Northwest 62nd Street and 20th Avenue around 10:20 p.m. They discovered two Black men who had died from multiple gunshot wounds.



One of the men killed was identified as 21-year-old Tyquavious Charles. The identity of the other victim killed, who was in his 30s, has not been released pending next of kin notification.

Two other victims, a man and a woman, were transported to the hospital. Police said the man, identified as 27-year-old Ricky Hudson, was shot multiple times and is listed in critical condition. The woman, who has not been identified, was grazed in the head and is listed in stable condition.

The shooting occurred less than a mile away from a mass shooting that left two people dead and seven injured at an apartment complex two weeks ago.
