On the brink of a demographic and cultural shift around the nation, Dr. Venessa “V” Walker, DC makes her way into the chiropractic industry at a pivotal time in history. It is reported that many Blacks were unfamiliar of the benefits of chiropractic care but with women like Dr. V a change can affect many lives.
As stated on her website, Walker is concerned about the entire YOU: mind, body and spirit.
This past weekend, Walker Chiropractic held a private ribbon-cutting reception and public grand opening to celebrate the opening of Walker Chiropractic and Wellness Center.
As she embarks on this new journey of her own chiropractic and wellness center, she takes pride in teaching her community
that their “health is their wealth”.
“I’m excited about the official opening,” Walker said. “We’re delighted to provide a free community event to the public that encourages preventative health care, support of local small businesses and an atmosphere for long term relationship building. The City of Miramar and Broward County have welcomed us with open arms and we love the opportunity to show our gratitude to its residents.”
At the grand opening, dozens turned out to show their support. Walker was able to provide the public with free food, catered by Moonie’s Jerk. There was also free school supplies and school physicals. State Farm and special guests including 103.5 The Beat and radio personality Papa Keith, Miami Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert held giveaways during the event.
“She’s been working really hard for this,” Tiwanna Dellop, said. “She succeeds in everything she does.”
In a more private setting, Dr. Walker held a ribbon-cutting reception earlier in the week. Complimentary massages and refreshments by local businesses were provided. Guests invited included: Mayor Lori Moseley and other City of Miramar representatives, Mayor Oliver Gilbert (Miami Gardens), Mayor Barbara Sharief (Broward County), a representative from the office of State Representative Shevrin Jones (District 101). All were able to get the first look of the new office and meet and greet with owner, Walker and her friendly staff as well as learn about the many services she provides.
“We do health and wellness here — It’s all about getting our community a little bit healthier she said. “It’s about going into the churches speaking about health and wellness becomes sometimes we lost it — so I do want our community to know that we have to live healthy in order for us to do what God has called us to do. I always say that your health is your wealth.”
As the bible states: your body is your temple and Dr. Walker, raised by a pastor and registered nurse wants to ensure that all her patients can “walk” in the path that God as made for us.
“I just want them all to know that there is more to life when you’re healthier,” Walker said.
Dr. Walker’s new office offers comprehensive chiropractic services for: auto accidents, sports injuries, wellness care, work/school physicals, weight loss, head/back/neck pain and more.
