Metropolitan Dade Section (NCNW) and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. “Delta Dears” traveled to Daytona Beach, Fla. to visit Bethune-Cookman University. They toured the campus and visited Dr. Mary Mcloud Bethune’s Foundation and gravesite. Those in attendance were: Alma Brown, Johnnie Lowery, Rose Moorman, Valerie Peacey, Marilyn Randall, Ethel Smith, Bernice Smith, Gayla Williams, Barbara Thompson, Karen Love, Mary Storr, Peggy Green, Viletta Howard, Helen Gay, Mary McCray, Edwina Prime, Dorothy Bolden, Carolyn Dunnell, Carol Weatherington, Juanita Kelly, Terri Lyn Kelly, Francina Scott, Ruby Rankin, Juanita Richardson, Nancy Dawkins and Martha Day.

Please join St. Agnes 10:45 a.m. Sun. May 18 for our annual Feminine Emphasis Day. Commissioner Audery M. Edmonson will be our guest speaker. A reception at Blackett Hall will follow the service. Women are encouraged to wear pink.

Sympathy to the Saunders-Boone family in the loss of their loved one, Enid Autherine Pinder-Boone, who died March 26. Born in Miami to George and Frances Saunders, Autherine graduated from Dorsey High School in 1942. Autherine was an LPN at “Sydenham” Hospital for a number of years. She is the aunt of Father Nelson Pinder of Orlando.

Saint Scholastica’s Chapter of Episcopal Church women held their annual “Youth Day” observance. President Angelita Brown and members were outstanding with their activities last week. Congratulations.
