Has president Obama made a difference for Blacks since becoming president?

Yes, because he has done a lot to change things for us. He has helped with the job situation in America. I know a lot of people feel that the job situation hasn’t changed but things have changed a little. So, he has done some work.
Amos Lattimore, 58
Retired, Liberty City
He has made a significant improvement in the job market, that was extremely helpful to people in the Black community.
Diane Green, 56

I think that he has had a positive impact on all communities, not just the Black community. He has made government work for every community.
James Marshall, 72
Retired, Liberty City
He made a difference for Blacks by just being elected president. When I was young I never thought that we could have a Black president, now we do.
Crystal Ruffin, 35

I don’t think that he has made any change in the Black community since he has been in office, nothing. Nothing in the Black community has changed; nothing in the world has changed. All I see is him on vacation all the time.
Karen Johnson, 70
Retired, Coral Park
He has made a positive difference in the Black community because of what he is trying to do. I think that he is just being blocked by the opposite party. He really has tried to make sure that the tax situation works for everybody.

I GET INTO A LOT OF ARGUMENTS WITH MY HUSBAND ON OUR DIFFERENCE OF OPINION AND MY SO-CALLED NEGATIVE OPINION ON OBAMA. HERE’S ANOTHER: THE MAJORITY OF BLACK PEOPLE ONLY VOTED FOR OBAMA BECAUSE HE IS BLACK.THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT OBAMA AND STILL DON’T — IT’S A BLACK THANG.
