I agree with a lot of the readers however, i’d also look at how divided the socio-economic infrastructure is in several districts/zones:

Coral Gables–compared to–Miami Gardens.
Kendall–compared to–Liberty City.

And so on and on and on.

I stress this dynamic because WE have to remember that WE elected these officials to run our districts and commision however, we can’t keep looking at expectations and advertisements on campaign posters during election season; WE GOTTA GO TO city hall, etc. etc. and voice our concerns with the same type of marches that cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, and others have and continue to march to improve their communities.

They got rid of Cmdr. Whitehead because he was a threat to the “establishment–Tea Party = Klan in suits.”

The same as they tried with President Obama & now Madame First Lady Obama. Who cares about what she wears or that she rolled her eyes at a politician during the Inauguration??

The First Lady was making a statement for/to ALL BLACK WOMEN and the “establishment” considers that a threat to their false sense of security.

ANYBODY SEE MY POINT???

It’s not what we see and read but, the underlined tones that are not printed in the media.

Something has to be done. Its the same old story though. I wonder why they got rid of Cmmdr Whitehead so quick when he was doing such a good job some years back. I don’t believe those in power want anything done. They want it to deteriorate to take the land.

And jumping out on innocent folks is not the solution…that has to stop

The system is design for us to kill each other. A Cuban in the chair doesn’t give a dam about black kids killing each other….A I have a dream speech won’t help either…I’m more concern about police killing young black kids these days that’s being swept under the rug…black people with money need to start giving back and I’m not talking about giving money to charity because charity doesn’t get to the hood….all people wanna do is give a speech….

“Violent youth continue to wreak havoc”….please stress the word continue in that headline. The community hasn’t changed so continued “wilding” and lack of discipline continues among our youth. Strong stigma applied to certain behavior (dosent exist) like early pregnancies, dropping out or failure to learn, male accountability to family and children, respect for self-elders-community..we only chastise bad behavior in the press or breakfast “meet-ups”. We elect politicians who see elected office as a job, where earning perks and money mean their kids dont end up like the youth we are describing in this piece. Pastors and church serve those who attend..occasionally we feed the hungry and hand out things around holidays. But many bible studies and sermons warn and rightfully so about the surrounding community and the “bad” young people. So folks look for the word “continued” bad behavior in the next article about youth crime and the marches and “breakfast ” protests that spring up once again. We are not serious and what genius said doing the same things over and over and expecting different outcomes ….hmmm

The environment is what needs to change. You’ll never know how much a young man want to make honest money until you create an environment where he can. Get after the absent landlords who are violating building codes left and right maintaining dilapidated business fronts, empty buildings, and slums. Insist that they create an environment that is attractive to business and business owners or shut them down. The Unity Barbershop Lives On!!!
